The average annual cost to treat someone with ALS is $250,000.
The breadwinner of the family is most often times the one diagnosed with ALS. The entire family unit is under massive stress to not only care for the loved one but they are forced to figure out how to pay for everything and keep the family's head above water. The only hope is to take advantage of the resources and assistance like the one's provided for by the ALS Association.
I think about my sister, Felisha Foster, everyday. I think about the last time I saw her which was a few weeks before she passed away in October 2017. I think about why I didn't hug her longer when my Uber driver showed up. I think about why I didn't take one last picture with her. What I would do to have one final picture with her. Everyday, I think about the 30,000 people who have ALS. They need our help.
I dream about the day we find a cure for this cruel disease. I dream about reaching my goal of $25,000 for this year's Walk to Defeat ALS.
The needs of ALS patients are overwhelming. The costs are astronomical. Most do not have the means to get the proper care. Covid has made treating ALS patients even more difficult.
Please donate if you can. Thanks for all your support. Everyone with Flea's Fighters thank you for honoring Felisha's legacy.
Sincerely,
Flynn Foster
