presents 33 Variations by Moises Kaufman

Contemporary Arts Center – 900 Camp Street – New Orleans

Presented as an Educational & Awareness Campaign for the ALS Association Louisiana-Mississippi Chapter and Team Gleason. Help Create a World Without ALS!

33 Variations is an inspiring theatrical experience. This textured performance piece combines drama, memory, moving images, and classical music to transport you from present‐day New York to 19th century Austria.

The character of Dr. Katherine Brandt is a somewhat irascible musicologist struggling against the relentless encroachment of ALS, while trying to complete her monograph on Beethoven and puzzle out a 200‐year‐old mystery.

A story about familial love, romantic desire, and artistic obsession, this extraordinary play examines what it means to lose the things that define us, and what we end up gaining in their stead.
